Strawberry skin is a very common problem for a lot of people.

I started to notice mine in my late teen years and though they don’t bother me so much. I still like the appearance of smoother legs especially on a night out or just during summer so I had to do something bout it.

What Causes Strawberry Skin?

If you don’t know what strawberry skin is, it is just a colloquial term for keratosis pilaris which is a skin condition that causes the appearance of dark spots usually on your legs.

The open comedones that cause the appearance of strawberry legs are clogged hair follicles or enlarged pores that contain a trapped mixture of oil, bacteria, and dead skin.

How To Get Rid Of Strawberry Legs

There are so many causes of this skin condition but as far as I know, mine is genetically inherited.

It is advised to do a laser hair removal which provides lasting results to permanently get rid of this. For me, I’ve been able to achieve smoother less bumpy skin by routine exfoliation.

Exfoliations greatly help the appearance of dark spots and the feel of rough dry skin which are both characteristics of strawberry legs.

Including body scrubs in your skin care routine will gently lift away dead skin cells instead of getting trapped in your follicles which causes the bumps. Follow up with moisturizers or body oils after to maintain your results.

Here are some of the best body scrubs, some of which I’ve tried and helped me achieve smoother and softer legs.
