I’m just going to say it as it is, I am pretty confident about my looks and perception of myself but there are days I feel like crap.
I have a pretty busy life with my 9-5 and while I’m rushing to get to work I neglect some things that I shouldn’t.
What happens is, when you start to neglect your looks it affects how you feel about yourself. Especially when everyone else looks so put together.
Here, I will be sharing with you the things every woman should do to feel like a star.
1. Work On Your Skin
A lot of people compliment me on my skin even though I never felt like I had great skin.
My skin is prone to acne and blemishes so I never felt very confident about it, but, this led me to want to take extra care of my skin.
After a few purchases of the right skincare products, my skin cleared up and now I don’t even wear makeup except for special occasions.
When your skin looks good, you feel good.
Ladies, you have to be willing to give your skin some attention especially as you age to keep it youthful.
While some people are lucky and blessed with amazing skin requiring very little effort, others have to invest in some acne treatment kit, an anti-aging serum or even a hyperpigmentation cream.
Having good skin will make you feel very good about yourself.
2. Take Your Gut Health Seriously
Seriously, what are you eating? Are you thinking about what you put in your body as much as what you put on your body?
I’m not the healthiest person but I have started thinking about my overall health and gut health is very important people.
Constipation, bloat, smelly flatulence, and toxin build-up are some things that can affect how you feel about yourself.
Being bloated affects your confidence by not being able to wear what you want or worse, risk someone asking you if you are pregnant when you are not.
I use Dr. Tobias Colon 14 Day Quick Cleanse whenever I feel like I have been unhealthy and need a pick me up.
3. Work It Girl
Working out is very therapeutic. I am somewhat petite (a size 2) but listen, ever since I started working out I have noticed an elevated mood.
I don’t work out to lose weight.
I work out because I have a desk job so I’m sitting around all day long.
Just to keep my body moving and it makes me feel pumped up with the right kinds of energy.
Whatever the reason you may have; to lose weight, tone up or build lean muscles, working out makes you feel good and look good.
You don’t have to sign up for a gym membership. Youtube is your friend, all you need to do is get some cheap and affordable gym accessories and bring along your motivation.

4. Take Care Of Your Nails
I really am not a judgemental person but I judge people with dirty nails. Why do you have dirt underneath your nails?
Like what have you been scratching? Lol. Men especially.
But ladies keeping your nails clean and beautiful will make your hands look lovely.
So many people see your hands a day. I stare at my hands all day long when I have a fresh trim and its well moisturized.
Invest in a simple nail care kit and anti-aging moisturizing hand cream to keep your hands beautiful.
5. Take Care Of Your Hair
I don’t have a great hair texture at all.
My hair is very thin and fine which makes it hard for me to wear it however I like.
And to top that off, my hair was breaking and I recently got a bald spot. I have to say that wrecked my confidence and made me feel really bad.
I started researching the best hair treatments for damaged hair. Someone recommended Olaplex to me and it saved me!
For my bald spot, I started applying black castor oil to grow it out and included biotin vitamins to my daily care regimen.
All I’m saying is, hair is very important and can affect how you feel about yourself.
Even if you wear a buzz cut, you want it to be a nice looking buzz cut.
Take care of your hair.
6. Don’t Forget About Your Oral Care
The state of your oral health can affect your mood tremendously.
Clean teeth will make you feel good and confident to smile.
Take a trip to the dentist to have your teeth professionally cleaned and whitened or do it yourself at home with this teeth whitening kit everyone is raving about.
Everyone sees your teeth when you speak so they’re something you want to really take care of.
Great tips dear, especially the number 2. I’ve read somewhere that gut health affects mental health.

It’s an awesome thing that you are doing by being honest in your article. Your being honest. Made me look at my finger nails. Lol nah but I definitely agree with those things. But I also think you need to love yourself on the inside as well as the outside. I feel for myself, the two are just as important. That’s just my opinion. And only because I’m ok with my outside but not my insides. So yes I’m reading anything and everything that can help make me feel like a better me. So thank you so much. Xo
